2007 Willow Awards Launch
Elizabeth & Westberry Schools in Kindersley co-hosted the Willow Awards Launch on October 18, 2007.

The event was a fantastic celebration that clearly expressed the Kindersley schools' interest in promoting reading.

Students gathered in the gym at Elizabeth School. Everyone was very excited and well behaved.
Mrs. Ochs' grade four class recited poems with a reading theme.
The gym and adjacent halls were beautifully decorated.
The student art work was amazing and one of the highlights of the event.
Students from grades six and seven, Sydney, Westberry School SRC President, and Jared, Elizabeth School SRC President, were the MCs for this prestigious event. Thank you for a job well done!
The day opened with a parade of honored guests led by RCMP Const. Baldwin & Const. Boodram dressed in their red serge uniforms.
They were followed by the Willow Awards Board President Ms. Claire Isaac, Board Member, Mrs. Naomi Krai, Mrs. Mary Levers and other honored guests
The KCS Band opened with 0 Canada while Mrs. Venn's grade two class sang along in sign language.
Students announced the nominees in the Shining Willow, Diamond Willow and Snow Willow categories.
A powerpoint created by Mr. Derek Doll and his grade six class played at various times throughout the Launch.
Students can hardly wait to vote in the Willow Awards and to find out who the winners are. Voting day in Kindersley is February 29!
Mrs Wagner showed students the Willow Award presented to the winning authors.
