Ellen and her friend decide to publish their own newspaper that will only portray the truth. The girls become investigative reporters in their community. They become intrigued with a mysterious stranger who moves in next-door where they put their investigative skills to the test.

Joan Givner

Joan Givner

Joan Givner was born in Manchester, England in 1936, took an honours degree in English from the University of London in 1958, married David Givner in 1965, and returned to London for a PhD (1972), following teaching and graduate studies in the USA. In 1972 she resumed teaching in the English department of the University of Regina, where she remained till taking early retirement in 1995 and moving to British Columbia to write full time.
