Tony, Craig and Shawn are trapped on a piece of ice in the middle of a river that is swiftly carrying them toward the ocean. Twelve-year-old Petra comes to the rescue, but their dangerous journey is just beginning.
Jennifer McGrath Kent is a freelance writer and educator who lives in Lower Coverdale, New Brunswick. A graduate of St. FX and the University of Victoria, she has worked as an English instructor at the University of Moncton, a CBC Radio reporter and writer, and a speechwriter for the City of Moncton.
Jennifer writes and performs Creativity Workshops for Grades K-5, with a focus on literacy and storytelling. She is in high demand in schools throughout her district; children respond enthusiastically to her workshops, and she is skilled in sparking their imaginations. She has written a few plays, including The Joob-Joob Jungle, which she also performs in school. She has contributed articles and reviews to CCL, the journal for Canadian Children's Literature.
