Gordon Korman wrote his first novel at age 12 as a grade-seven writing assignment. He submitted it to Scholastic Canada, where it was published soon after as This Can't Be Happening at Macdonald Hall. Since then he has written more than 40 novels for middle-grade and young adult readers, including Son of the Mob, Born to Rock, and the best-selling Island, Everest and Dive series. His most recent book YA novel is The Juvie Three, and his most recent middle-grade title is One False Note, which made the New York Times bestseller list.
