Callie is having the worst summer of her life. She has lost her best friend and has been publicly humiliated at the pool. The only things that keep her going are the diving practices with her father and a secret Olympic dream.  When Hoot moves next door, he teaches her the true meaning of friendship.

Winnie Mack was raised in Vancouver, BC, where she was certain her parents unwittingly cursed her writing career with a happy and stable childhood. In an effort to overcome her unfortunate beginnings, she sought artistic torment at the University of Victoria, but despair eluded her. Although she earned a BA in Writing and English, she didn’t suffer for a moment.

Hoping for worse luck south of the border, she moved to the US, but happiness continued to stalk her, day and night. Finally, she conceded defeat, abandoned her quest for misery, and began writing humorous fiction for women and young readers.

Wendy has a strong background in humorous women’s fiction, but one day, while sorting out memorabilia, she discovered the journals she used to write as a child. From there sprang the inspiration for After All, You’re Callie Boone, her first children’s book.

This book "After All, You're Callie Boone" is a really funny and intersting book. My favourite part is where Callie meets her new friend Hoot and they became best friends. My least favourite part is where Amy ditched her for Samantha McAllister. I didn't really like the ending of the book because I thought that it would be a little longer and end in a different way but overall this book is awesome!

I really loved this book. It made me laugh, it made me think, it made me cry. I could really empathize with Callie. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read stories that are realistic and truthful.

What a great book! All about Callie's hardships, triumphs and friendships! This book is so great because she never gives up and never seems to be let down by anyone. I admire Callie's determind character and the way you wrote about her in a modern, funny, outgoing way! I just wish that it had ended with her getting on the swim team. 4 stars!
