Book Reviews

Suggested Activities

  1. Make your own graphic novel about an adventure you have had with your friends.
  2. The book shows different ways of protesting an issue.  Think of an issue in your town, Saskatchewan or Canada that affects you. How would you protest and get others to protest with you?
  3. Elections happen usually in the fall. This fall there will be Municipal (town Mayor) elections. Go with your parents to see how the voting looks. Ask your parents, teachers and adult family friends how they decide who to vote for. Hold your own elections with your friends.

Hey Diamond Willow readers!

This is Liam O'Donnell, the author of Power Play.

I'm inviting comments about Power Play on my blog and you're invited!

Do you want to ask me questions about the book, share your thoughts on
the characters or just say hi? Then join in on our ongoing Diamond
Willow Awards Conversation in the comments section of this blog post:

http://liamodonnell.com/feedingchange/2012/09/talking-power-play-with-diamond-willow-award-readers/

Here's how it works:
1. You write a comment at the end of that post. It can be a question,
your opinion on the book, whatever!
2. I will write you back in the comments. I'll try to answer your
question or maybe even ask you a question. :)
3. You write me back as many times as you like.
4. I will definitely write you back.
5. Repeat until we run out of things to say!

Please be patient. My response won't show up right away. I'll check
all the comments at the end of the day and write back. Once you have
left a comment, go outside and play, or better yet, finish your
homework! Check back the next day and a response should be waiting for
you.

You can even ask questions about the illustrations. I'll pass them
onto Mike Deas, the illustrator and maybe we can convince him to come
out of hiding and join in on the conversation, too.

Happy reading and hope to see you in the comments!
